Client Content and Copyright Policy
Last updated: July 14, 2026
This Client Content and Copyright Policy explains your responsibilities regarding the material you provide to Melique Sound, how we handle that material, and how we respond to copyright concerns. It works alongside our Intellectual Property and Music Licensing Policy.
01Your ownership and responsibility
You retain ownership of the recordings, lyrics, compositions, artwork, and other materials you provide to us ("Client Content"). You are solely responsible for ensuring you hold all rights, licenses, and permissions necessary for us to work with that content.
02Your representations
By submitting Client Content, you represent and warrant that:
- you own or are licensed to use the content and to authorize our work on it;
- the content does not infringe any third party's copyright, trademark, publicity, privacy, or other rights;
- any samples, interpolations, or third-party elements have been or will be properly cleared; and
- the content is not unlawful, defamatory, or otherwise prohibited.
03License to us for the engagement
You grant Melique Sound a limited, non-exclusive license to store, copy, edit, process, and adapt Client Content solely to provide the agreed services. This license is used only for your project and is not a transfer of ownership.
04How we handle your content
We treat Client Content, especially unreleased work, as confidential. We store it using reasonable security measures and limit access to those who need it to perform the work. We do not sell your content or share it publicly without your permission.
05Prohibited content
We will not knowingly work on content that is unlawful, that infringes third-party rights, or that we reasonably consider harmful or abusive. If we discover such content in a project, we may pause or terminate the engagement, with fees for completed work remaining payable.
06Copyright complaints
We respect copyright and respond to legitimate concerns. If you believe content connected to our services infringes your copyright, please contact us with enough information to identify the work, the material at issue, your relationship to the rights, and your contact details. We will review the matter and take appropriate action, which may include removing or disabling access to the material in question.
07Counter-notice and good faith
If material was removed or restricted in error, the affected party may contact us with an explanation. We aim to handle all copyright matters reasonably and in good faith, balancing the interests of everyone involved.
08Indemnity for client content
You agree to indemnify and hold Melique Sound harmless from claims, damages, and reasonable costs arising from Client Content you provide or from your breach of the representations in this policy, to the extent attributable to you.
09Retention and deletion of content
We retain Client Content for a reasonable period to support delivery and any agreed archival needs, after which it may be deleted or anonymized in line with our Privacy Policy. You may request deletion of your content, subject to our need to retain certain records for legal and business purposes.
