Refund and Cancellation Policy

Last updated: July 14, 2026

This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains how cancellations are handled and when refunds may or may not apply to services provided by Melique Sound. Because our work is custom and produced specifically for each client, this policy balances fairness to you with the reality that creative work begins soon after a project is accepted.

01Nature of our services

Melique Sound provides bespoke music production and audio services. Once a project is accepted, we reserve time, prepare sessions, and begin creative work that is tailored to you and generally cannot be resold or reused. This affects how cancellations and refunds are treated.

02Deposits

Many engagements require a deposit before work begins. The deposit secures your place in our schedule and covers initial preparation and creative work. Unless stated otherwise in your proposal, deposits are non-refundable once work has commenced.

03Cancelling before work begins

If you cancel a project after acceptance but before any work has started, you may be entitled to a refund of amounts paid, less any non-refundable deposit and any reasonable administrative or third-party costs already incurred on your behalf.

04Cancelling after work has begun

If you cancel after work has begun, fees covering the work already performed are non-refundable. Where you have prepaid for stages not yet started, we will refund the portion attributable to those unstarted stages, at our reasonable assessment of progress to date.

On cancellation, any deliverables are provided in accordance with our Intellectual Property and Music Licensing Policy, which generally means rights transfer or license only upon full payment for the relevant work.

05Revisions are not a basis for a refund

Each project includes an agreed number of revision rounds under our Project Delivery and Revision Policy. Requests to refine work within the agreed scope are part of the service and are not grounds for a refund. Changes of creative direction or requirements beyond the agreed scope are handled as additional, chargeable work.

06Quality concerns

If you believe a deliverable does not meet the agreed brief or specification, contact us promptly within the review window described in your proposal. We will work in good faith to correct genuine errors or deviations from the agreed scope. This commitment addresses defined technical or scope issues; it does not extend to subjective preference where the deliverable matches the agreed brief.

07Payments already released to third parties

Where your fees include costs paid to third parties on your behalf—such as licensed materials or external services—those amounts are non-refundable once committed, regardless of cancellation.

08How refunds are processed

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method where possible, within a reasonable period after they are agreed. The time it takes for funds to appear depends on your payment provider. Transaction or processing fees are generally non-refundable.

09Chargebacks

If you have a concern about a payment, please contact us first so we can resolve it directly. Initiating a chargeback without contacting us may result in suspension of work and withholding of deliverables while the matter is investigated.

10Changes to this policy

We may update this Refund and Cancellation Policy from time to time. The version that applies to your engagement is the one in effect on the date your project is accepted, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
